Environmental Noise Control in the Pulp and Paper Industry
ثبت نشده
چکیده
The number of external noise sources of a paper making line is typically around 80 pcs. The major ones are process and machine room ventilation and vacuum pump exhausts. The noise control targets will dictate the scope and costs of sound attenuation. Considerable cost reductions can be achieved if the noise control design starts at the early stage of a project. Additionally, depending on the noise level requirements, absorptive silencers, resonators or enclosures are used. Active Noise Control is yet another method of reducing noise, especially at the lower frequencies. The sensors and actuators are using ElectroMechanical Film (EMFi) technology. GENERAL TRENDS IN EXTERNAL NOISE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS The external noise level requirements in the paper industry have increased from the 80's till now. Already in the 80's some paper mills in the center of cities had very strict noise level requirements. The general overall trend, however, looks as shown in figure 1.

Membrane separation technologies have recently received much attention, from lab-scale studies to full-scale operations, in the forest industry. However, membrane fouling comprises a signifcant obstacle to their broad application. Thus, to ensure cost-effective operation of membrane separation processes, the improved elucidation of membrane fouling and establishment of e...
متن کاملImpacts of food processing industry on some environmental health and safety factors
In developing countries, it is common to site (or locate) industries without environmental impact assessment. In this study the impacts of two food processing industries on land use and land capability, noise and vibration, environmentally sensitive areas and visual quality as environmental elements were investigated. The research method adopted was the investigative survey research approach (I...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effect of Workplace Noise Exposure on Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors: A Case-Control Study
Background and Aim: Occupational exposure to noise in the workplaces is a significant health problem and cardiovascular disease is one of the most important and common non-communicable diseases and one of the main causes of premature death. In addition to hearing impairments, noise as a stressor may cause cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, nerve stimulation, stress and hormonal dis...
متن کاملEffect of Metal Salt Coagulants on Treatment of Activated Sludge Effluent in Sulfite Mill Pulp and Paper Plant
Pulp and paper effluents are considered as serious environmental hazards and their treatment, because of multiplicity of impurities and complexity of their chemical structures, is one of the most difficult and inconvenient industrial processes. As the most pulp and paper mill work on kraft process, there are few studies in literature on the treatment of neural sulfite semi chemical (NSSC) p...
